To say I love maternity sessions is an understatement.  Pregnant women are so gorgeous and luminous!  It’s a privilege that my clients have trusted me implicitly when it comes down to our sessions together. Marry my love with these maternity sessions with water and some late afternoon, delicious,  golden light and I am truly one happy girl.  Last summer I was able to get a few clients into the water, like, really IN the water as the sun dipped down below the horizon.  The tide and temps were just right and I knew that I’d be making magic.  It’s in these times that I get a little giddy, and if you’ve shot with me before you know exactly what I mean!  I envision it, feel it and then when I see it come to fruition I lose my breath a bit just like the time I developed my first print in a small darkroom in 1995.  I want to do many, many more of these maternity portraits this year and years to come.  Whether they are in the comfort of of your own home or in the late afternoon summer light, I would love to be there to capture this special time for you and your family.  Enjoy! xoxo

This beautiful girl was such a pleasure to photograph.  So at ease in front of the camera and boy did she work it!!  It was a collaboration with my friend and talented hair & make up artist Kerri Marie Verocchi.  I highly recommend enlisting the professional help of a hair & makeup stylist for your senior, maternity, boudoir and even your family session.  You will look and *feel* like a million bucks!    Samples of clients who have used a stylist at the end of the post!!

So on to Jess, the luminous beauty who I can’t wait to work with again!!

Yvonne - STUNNING! Such beautiful images. Perfect model with great styling.

Happy Monday!  I’m feeling so relaxed after a 6 day vacation with the hubby down in Puerto Rico.  We had beautiful weather, excellent meals, did the Bioluminescent Bay excursion and basically relaxed pool and beachside all day, every day.  As the days wound down I was definitely ready to get back home to hug and kiss my boys!  Now it’s back to work and I’ve got some fun projects lined up but still have many more client sessions to blog from last year.  Here’s a newborn shoot done last June.  If you are expecting and interested in booking a newborn session it’s really best to do it before the baby comes to ensure you schedule your session when the baby is about 5-10 days old.  We will pencil you in 1 week from your due date and make necessary adjustments to that timing once the baby is born.  Interested in also tagging on a maternity session?  Those are best around 7-8 months when you’re belly is really well defined and you’re still feeling great!

How many of you are Pinterest addicts?  I remember when I first joined I was in awe of all the eye candy and became quickly consumed by all the beauty and inspiration.  It’s such a brilliant idea–no more bookmarks to remember or need to wrack your brain trying to remember where you saw that one special something last.  It becomes a place where your world of online disorganization is transformed into  colorful blocks of “forget-me-nots”, a visual list of “I want to try this craft with the kiddos”, “ooooh, maybe this rug for the living room” and “I’m SOOOO making this for dinner tonight”!  It’s also become a place for artists to seek inspiration and for clients to pull together must-haves for their own shoots.  For this session, my beautiful client had a specific shot in mind that she found on Pinterest that she wanted to recreate.  A little bit Bo-Ho influence with a flower crown, and a smooch for her son.  In fact, it was a shot I swooned over as well.  If you have a shoot coming up with me, go ahead and pin some ideas and share the board with me!  If you’re not yet on Pinterest–well, what are you waiting for??? 🙂  You can follow me here.

Enjoy! xoxo

And the Bo-Ho bit :-)…and the precious purple vintage jumper I found on Etsy.  Love my Etsy!!!

Stacy - You nailed it, and dare I say, your shot is better!! The whole session is beautiful!!

Happy New Year, everyone!!  I’m so excited to be back in work mode.  The holidays were amazing but I’m so ready to put my energies back into my business.  That means I have have a bunch of blog entries to get to–I am STILL blogging early 2013!  Yikes.

This little girl is such a delight to photograph.  I did her newborn session when she was 4 weeks old.  I was almost GLAD mom had called me a little late in the game, as normally newborn sessions take place when the baby is under 14 days, but being that she was a little older, her eyes were much clearer and just STUNNING!!  You can see that session here.  Fast forward a year to April 2013 and we did her one year session on a glorious April day in Boston.  It was unseasonably warm, and by warm I mean in the 80’s!!  Crazy.  So after we had some fun shooting in their light filled home (oh the light!!) and trying on mom’s white dress from when she was a baby, an adorable nappy cover and dress that mom knitted and my favorite vintage blue Swiss dot dress (just had to with those blue eyes!!), we ventured out to the Boston Public Garden to enjoy the beautiful day.

I will add that none of these images were edited with actions.  I made some adjustments for color in ACR but that is all!  Have you ever heard of K.I.S.S.?  It means “keep it simple stupid”.  Sometimes keeping it simple is all you need to do.  With the ample light and colors of her nursery, these images needed nothing else!

PS: I wasn’t calling you stupid–I’ll substitute it with Sweetcheeks from now on 😉  Enjoy! xoxo
