I photographed this beautiful young couple and their newborn son at my home last July.  It is such a treat to see that love and adoration that literally pours out of new parents.  I will be seeing them very soon for Cooper’s 6 month session and then this summer for his 1st year session.  If you are interested in learning more about my Baby Plan or scheduling a newborn session please email me directly or use the contact form above.

All lifestyle sessions are done in the comfort of your own home and can take place within the first 4 weeks.  All studio style sessions, like Cooper’s, are done only at my home and must take place when the baby is 14 days and under.  Lifestyle sessions best suite those that have other children (or fur babies) at home or for those that desire a more personal feel to their photos in their home environment.

“Babies are the berries!”  This is something my mother always said.  As a child and teen I could never really understand it.  I mean, really.  They have stinky diapers, they cry and quite honestly they get all the attention, don’t they?  Not until I got older  could I understand what she meant–when my maternal instincts kicked in and of course as soon as I had my own children.  They are just so sweet and happy (for the most part), expressive, curious, loveable, cuddly and how can you help yourself from taking a bite from those chunky thighs!  Ahhh, babies 😉  Let’s reminisce shall we?  The smell of Dreft…the familiar fragrance of Johnson Baby Shampoo…brings me right back to that baby stage.  Better than any high end perfume in my book!

I was scheduled to do this little beauty’s newborn shoot back in November of 2013.  However, my body betrayed me and physically I was unable to do the shoot because of my bulged disc issue.  I was back in PT and my year ended a bit earlier than expected.  I did promise to come back to see her for her 6 month shoot and this is that morning with Ms. Grace.  She was just on the verge of sitting sturdily on her own so we wound up doing more lying down shots than sitting.  We bobbed around her beautiful nursery and then she was ready for her late morning nap.  These sessions are so fun.  I love all of the different expressions you can get and in such a short amount of time, too!  Enjoy!

If you follow me then you are probably very familiar with these cuties.  It’s a privilege to be trusted and asked back and back to document special times in their lives.  I was there for both girls’ newborn sessions and many sessions along the way.  If you missed the video I shot during a session last summer, you can check that out here–a whole lot of beautiful happened on that private beach on Cape Cod!  I will be back to see them in April to photograph their baby BOY once he arrives.  I am sooooo excited for them!!  This was a little lifestyle session last April.  I really love the spontaneity and real-ness that comes across during lifestyle sessions.  Just you, your children and raw emotion.  Winter and early spring is a perfect time to schedule a lifestyle session in your home.  Please email me for details!  Enjoy!

The newborn stage is ever so fleeting.  Their little breathy sounds, that newborn baby smell, the milk induced sleep with the twitch of gummy smile–these moments that we want to hold on to forever and never let go.  It goes by in a flash while we watch in wonder and joy behind bleary, sleep deprived eyes.  This is the time to document and this is where I come in!  If you are pregnant and looking to book a newborn photographer, now is the time to reach out–before the baby arrives so we can get you in my calendar now.  We will schedule you 1 week from your due date if you are interested in a “studio-style” newborn shoot or 2-4 weeks weeks from your due date if you’d like a more intimate family oriented “lifestyle” session.  Please email me for further details!

I loved working with this family again–not only are they gorgeous, they really truly value photography.  Their home is adorned with photos telling the story their life together.  It’s always a blessing to be invited back into people’s lives to continue documenting their family’s journey and growth.

Whoah.  Two blog posts within 48 hours.  I’m really taking this New Year’s resolution pretty seriously.  Back to working out.  Check.  (sore muscles as I sit here!)  Blog at least once per week.  Check.  I’m posting this session from summer 2014  because yesterday I edited the movie I also shot during this session so I felt it apropos to post the video and blog the images all at once.

This was such a fabulous session!  This is a client who gets-it.  Who strives to collaborate to make the most beautiful images possible.  From clothing to props to hair & makeup, she had it covered.  When she pulled up we really needed a sherpa to help us unload her car which was overflowing with gorgeous antiques, hangers and hangers of stunning dresses, bouquets upon bouquets of the most exquisite floral arrangements….truly, I believe she’s missing her calling as a photo prop stylist!  We laid it all out and planned how each set up would be styled as I pulled some of my own props to integrate to create one cohesive and thoughtful concept.  From mid-day to sun to the very last bit of light in which I could manage to shoot, months of planning came to an end–all tired, but feeling invigorated by what had just unfolded.
