What a better way to spend your first birthday than half naked on the beach eating a pink cake at sunset? 🙂

This session wrapped up our time together documenting the milestones of Emma’s first year.  As always, it is a JOY to see my littlest clients grow, how familiar they become with the silly lady with the big camera and without a doubt how these families come to feel like friends versus “clients”.  It goes without saying that the trust and whole-hearted confidence they have in me as “their photographer” is a gift in itself.

Let your session be that pause button we all so desire to hold tightly these precious and fleeting moments in life….

Greetings from Winter Storm Juno!  The snow started yesterday and it continues to fall as I sit here at 4pm writing this blog post.  It is supposed to persist through tomorrow–another school cancellation and likely another 6-12 inches on top of the 24 we’ve already got on the ground.  I wish we could get outside to have some fun but I’ve got a sick boy here at home whose fever spiked to 103.8 last night.  Relaxing and recuperating today with hopes of sledding down the enourmous snow pile at the head of our driveway from the plow.  It’s looking right about 6 or 7 feet right now which is kind like a mountain to my eager boys!

I’ve seen a lot of memes floating around FB about the baby booms that happen during winter storms.  If that is true then perhaps I might be hearing from some of you come November.  😉  Remember, for studio style sessions like Max’s, shoots must take place when the baby is 14 days or younger.  Lifestyle sessions can take place in your home within the first 4 weeks.  Please email me for details on booking your session, the Maternity : Newborn Collection as well as the Baby Plan which covers off on Newborn, 6 months and 1 Year Sessions with the option of a Maternity session add-on.

Enjoy!  xoxo

AJ - amazing watching you work Steph!

How did I ever not blog this gorgeous expectant mama from 2013?  Just when I thought I was catching up on 2014 sessions, I realize I still have many to share!  So when’s the best time to book your maternity session, you ask?  I like to do my sessions around the 7th or 8th month–when you’re got a nice bump and you’re still feeling great.  Also interested in doing a newborn session?  Just ask about my Maternity : Newborn Collection as well as my Baby Plan that covers the entire first year!  Max’s newborn session will be up next!  Enjoy! xoxo

    Season - Stunning!

17 degrees.  Seventeen.

I don’t even know how cold it was with the numbing wind that made the snow dance and swirl across the lake.  Three minutes is all we could take and she was a trooper.  As I ran over and grabbed her bare hands in mine, she chuckled and assured  me she wasn’t even cold.  Such a spitfire.  That red hair and personality?  Mom and dad are surely in trouble 😉  I’m so happy she obliged and let me take a few photos of her last Friday as the sun was going down over our lake.  I got to test drive the 70-200mm 2.8 lens and now I can see what everyone fusses about.  It’s a beast, but it’s a beauty.
