Bellini Portraits » Bellini Portraits : Boston Newborn Photographer, Boston Children's Photographer, Boston Family Photographer, Boston Maternity Photographer

I was about to blog this pretty mama’s beach session with her baby boy from last fall and realized that due to my awful blogging habits 2013-14 that her maternity images never made it up here on the blog.  It was my New Year’s resolution to blog at LEAST once per week and I’ve been holdin’ strong!

How do you feel about maternity photos?  Was it something you did when you were pregnant?  Did you not and now regret it?  I know I always preach about photographing you, your life, getting yourself into the photos and I never had professional pictures done of either of my pregnancies!  3 weeks before I was due with my second I decided to set up the tri-pod and do some self portraits.  4 days later I went into labor.  I am so happy that I finally did it otherwise I’d never have a photo memory of that special time in my life.

If you are thinking about booking a maternity session the best time is around your 7 month when you’re feeling great and energetic still and your bump is ample enough to show off!  Of course you can do it anytime right up until the time you deliver.  This session I shot  during all that crazy snow we got over the winter proved to be just in the nick of time–she went into labor the NEXT night!!  For details please email or call anytime!

This session was shot during the fall of 2013.

Enjoy! xo

Sharon frost - Absolutely beautiful photos! Nothing more beautiful than a woman with child!

Here we are!  Three quarters of the way through May and I will be doing my first beach shoot of the season tonight.  My client will be moving out of the country this weekend so today will be the day for our shoot regardless of the fact that it is going to be pretty nippy at the ocean later this evening.  I have full faith that the session will be beautiful regardless of the how many goosebumps we get!  This session with twins Ava & Ella was shot last September and even though it was a hot month, the night of our shoot was not.  These little girls braved the whipping wind with the help of some blankets and wraps I brought along.

If you are thinking of booking a children’s portrait or family session this summer or fall, now is the time to get the booked and into my schedule.  August thru November are my busiest months of the year.  Mini sessions will be held  late summer(dates to be announced) and will be offered to exisitng Bellini clients on a first come first serve basis.  I will be sending out my newsletter with these dates so if you are not already on my email list please sign up here to do so!

Enjoy!

Gabrielle - These images are everything that pictures of children should be like: fun filled, innocent, carefree!! The light is just beyond gorgeous and I love how you captured Ava and Ella’s individual personalities.

Sometimes it all comes together.  When it does, it seldom can be replicated.  This session is a great example of just that.  The weather, the sunset and the rising moon.  I couldn’t have planned it and never have I had such a spectacular backdrop for a portrait session.  The kind of session that gets my adrenalin pumping, knowing we have just a short window to make that magic happen.  I can’t wait to experience similar nights with clients this summer.  No, it will not be just like this.  It will be special in it’s own way.  Just for you, your family, just the way it was intended to unfold….

Enjoy!  xo

    Michelle H - beautiful.

When I started my business, newborn photography was no where like it is today.  Anne Geddes was the artist that most people thought of when they envisioned adorable sleeping babies, curled and molded into flowers, vegetables and hanging panty hose!  Then there were a few burgeoning names that really brought a more down to earth approach to the professional newborn/baby portrait world.  A more tangible, serene and oh-so adorable take on newborn imagery.  We all ooh-ed and aah-ed over the tush in the air shots, the froggy and the head on the hands poses, and not to mention the taco pose.  While I tried for some time to fit the mold of what was to be expected from me as a newborn photographer, my true love was and still is simple REAL lifestyle portraiture for newborns and their family.  I love being in different home environments.  This is where people are most comfortable.  This is where you can really get a true sense of family.  The love and bonding you experience from being a fly on the wall witnessing true emotion.

I’ve been photographing this family since their first born was a week old.  And…you know it–I did those poses and even photographed him sleeping in a bowl on dining room table in their gorgeous brownstone.  I was driven by what was en vogue and while the images were beautiful and the family loved and adored them, I knew that it was not truly “my” style.

My focus going forward will be lifestyle newborn sessions while phasing out the studio-style sessions.  My opinion is and always has been that a client takes away more from lifestyle sessions.  If you are interested in booking a newborn session, please email me for further details!  Enjoy!wellesley ma newborn photographerBosotn

    Bobbie - LOVE these <3

Ella and her mama share a very special bond.  Beyond the love, laughter and total adoration for each other, they share the same birthday!  Ella just turned 3 last week which means I’ve been lucky to know and photograph their family for 3 years now.  Each shoot just gets better and better.  It’s always such a joy to work with clients who are as excited about the whole process of creating as you are.  The clothing she brings to the table never disappoints.  In fact, it usually makes me giddy with excitement.  This session was no exception.

I mean, matching crochet kaftans?  I die.

This is from our summer mini session last September.  The weather changed so drastically from my first session to my last.  From blue bird skies to completely overcast and moody.  Their session fell smack dab in the middle.  The sun was in and out and then the clouds rolled in and creatied a blanket of blue, gray and white across the sky.  The calm ocean breeze turned to tempestuous wind which stirred the ocean so quickly creating foamy white waves that reached farther and farther onto the beach.  From sky to water, it created such a gorgeous backdrop.

Enjoy! xo
