She’s growing up.

For the past couple of years, I’ve been having my niece down to visit from NH for a few days during her winter break.  I usually meet my sister half way to pick her up and drop her off.  It’s a nice break for her from her siblings (brothers) and it gives us a chance to spend some girlie time together.  This time my mom brought her so I got two family visits in one.  It’s been so nice.  Not only do I love having her (and my mom), my son ADORES her and is glued to her side 24-7.  It seems like yesterday that she was just my son’s age and it’s really hard to believe she’ll turn 13 this fall.  Crazy!!  I remember my 13th birthday–all I really wanted was permission to wear makeup but that didn’t happen 🙂  She was all for a little photo shoot so we hit a few stores and I pulled together a few looks that she would never wear in real life but had no problem appeasing me and playing ’em up outside yesterday afternoon, despite the dropping temperature and impending storm.
