Caroline and Kate came to visit me again for a beach session last September. What was supposed to be a perfectly sunny afternoon turned into a moody, overcast and windy one. While I loooove my sun drenched sessions, I have really started to embrace those tempestuous overcast days. The clouds add such texture and dimension to the images and the best sunsets seem to be those that do not close the curtains on those perfect, cloudless blue-bird days but those that leave a cumulus veil for the pastel colors to saturate with beautiful tones. One September day could feel like mid-summer but this day felt more like the end of October! The girls braved the wind and cool temps and with trepidation mixed with excitement headed for the water. The sunset was absolutely amazing and cast a rosey glow across the sand and sky. I cannot wait to get back to the beach. It will be just 8 weeks or so before I start bringing families back to my favorite places.
