I remember being so bleary eyed and frustrated about 5 months after having my son.  I was told the first 3 months were soooo hard and then it gets easy–meaning they start to sleep more through the night.  Well, that wasn’t exactly happening for us.  I looked to one of my on-line moms groups, GardenMoms, for some advice.  I have always loved this group because it is 1) a very large active group and you got multiple immediate responses and 2) it was always great for other resources (i.e. “who’s a great carpenter”, “how much to pay your sitter”, “where to find a great kid friendly restuarant”).   It’s now become a great resource for referrals for me.  🙂  This client is also a fellow “GM”–as we like to call ourselves!  Her little sweetie just turned 15 months old.  She didn’t stop smiling for me…well until the very end, last shots and then the tears were flowing.  But poor little thing, she had caught daddy’s cold and I could tell she was spent and was so ready to snuggle into my fur blanket for her afternoon nap.  So we wrapped it up and called it a good day!  Here are some shots from yesterday.  Enjoy!

Amy - So sweet. I especially love the one of her on the hardwood. 🙂

This afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing two little girls for a Macys coupon code promotion ad who are now the proud big sisters of this little one I photographed a few weeks ago.  Their beautiful mom, who you’ll also see in that blog post, came by to pick up prints the other day and I got a quick peak at her beauty girls on her digital camera and I was soooooo excited for our shoot sexy cocktail dresses .  It helped me visualize some of the outfits I had handy from Matilda Jane and also from a brilliant local designer, Kiki Fluhr, who so kindly lent me outfits specifically for this shoot.  I LOVE styling my shoots when I get the chance and today I think despite some challenges–come on, they are 3 1/2 & 2 1/2 years old–we managed some fantastic shots.  If you are a designer out there and would like your clothes or accessories photographed by yours truly, please email best fragrances for women or call anytime!  L & D, here’s your sneak peek!  Enjoy!duoimg_0578img_0553img_0545

Matt - Love the simplicity and clean, fresh feel of your images.

I remember the day he came home from the hospital.  My bus driver’s name was Harry.  I think I remember that only because when I was 7 1/2 years old I thought it was “Hairy” and that was pretty funny stuff.  I jumped off the school bus and my white ankle socks got a little wet because I caught a bit of a puddle.  I’m not sure why I remember these things but I do.  I also remember putting a paper mailbox between our bedroom doors when I was in high school and he was probably in 3rd grade or so and we’d leave little notes for each other.  Pretty cute.  Well, he’s all grown up now with a family.  It’s still hard to believe that he/we are all getting older.  He’s moved back east after being out west for quite a few years and it’s so nice to have him close.  Our boys can grow up together!  So after waiting patiently for my schedule to free up for them, my brother and family drove from western MA today for their family session.  I scouted some local spots which worked out perfectly today.  After our shoot we headed back to my new abode for dinner–spaghetti and meatballs, YUM!  Finshed it all off with a Dove ice cream bar and I’m a pretty happy camper–albeit totally exhausted and ready for bed.  But because I love my brother and sis-in-law I wanted to get their sneak peak up asap.  Enjoy Michael!  I love you guys 🙂

Amy - stunning! the black & white of the family in the field….. *sigh* wonderful interaction in all. 🙂

I don’t get the chance to photograph teenagers that much.  I’d say almost all my sessions are newborn/babies and children under 5.  It’s ok. I can be goofy and ask kids to make each other laugh by telling potty jokes, but there’s something to be said with having clients that sit still and take direction 😉  Especially teen girls who seem to love the camera.  So, I headed to Weston today for my session and started with, of course, the girl.  Girls are fun, you can dress ’em up and they really like it.  It’s sorta their own rendition of America’s Next Top Model.  I brought my stash of hats (growing daily), some adorable knee high socks and we went to town.  She was up for anything and lucky for me, my baby bump isn’t too big that I can’t get down on my stomach to get certain shots!  Not for long!  Now for boys….for me I find that boys can be little tough to get to open up and be natural.  This guy didn’t love the hat idea and I really wanted to catch him off guard and embarass make him laugh to get some natural expression–still, a tough nut to crack.  Throw in a dog and VOILA!  Freddy, their beloved dog, added some real warmth to these photos.  What I loved the most and is still making me smile is the family shot with mom and dad.  They ALL donned a hat–add some jumping and laughing and you’ve got yourself an awesome shot.  Hope you guys enjoy…It was great meeting you today!

Can there ever be too many good shots?  I swear this little girl didn’t take a bad photo!  I can tell you now it’ll be hard editing down my images from today’s shoot.  I arrived just after she got up from her morning nap and she definitely woke up on the right side of the crib.  She was all smiles and so cooperative–the shoot was over in less time than it took me to get to them.  Granted, they are practically in NH 🙂  If you are wondering if I travel, the answer is YES!  So don’t hesitate to call if your at the tip of Cape Cod or in the Berkshires.  I’ve even had inquiries from NYC and as far as California.  Here are some of my favs from today, though there are many.  I couldn’t decide which shot from the white bed series I should include so I included both.  Leave a comment and let me know which you like best and why 🙂  Enjoy!

Danielle Halpin - WOW, too hard to choose a favorite, she is a real beauty. I do love her expression in the second to last one–her eyes are amazing…

  • September 17, 2009 - 7:45 pm

Moira Griffin - Definitely the 2nd to the last one, she’s beautiful & that shot captures it.

  • September 17, 2009 - 8:20 pm

Dad - Hi Stephanie. I am the baby’s Dad. Yea…these are a homerun. Love them all. My favorites are the first 2 pics because i like simple clean shots. Timeless.

  • September 17, 2009 - 8:37 pm

Suzanne - Fabulous!! Your work is amazing and I am oh so excited to see the rest. Of the two in the bed series… I love them both, but in the first, I see her personality and in the second, her beauty! Many thanks for driving up to us 🙂

  • September 17, 2009 - 9:30 pm

Auntie Jess - These are great! I agree with Bill (Dad) for simplicity…My favorite is the first one. I love the 2nd too, such a sweet expression.

  • September 17, 2009 - 9:46 pm

Cristina - Love these! First one is a total favorite for sure!!

  • September 18, 2009 - 4:43 am

Meredith - Very difficult decision on first 2 shots. #2, if I HAD to make a choice. The hat does it for me, what with the light & those big, beautiful blue eyes. As for outside, all-time fav would be first one in the carriage; the hat & the “look.” Definitely a diva! Too precious….

  • September 18, 2009 - 8:28 am

Julie - What great shots..She is so stinkin’ cute..

  • September 18, 2009 - 9:55 am

Jess - My favorite is the close up in the stroller. This girl as absolutely gorgeous eyes and you captured them wonderfully.

  • September 18, 2009 - 11:06 am

Michelle Henrick - AMAZING!!!!!!! I love them all for different reasons. I am probably drawn to the first two the most because I want some super clean white shots as well but never seem to get a bedroom that white, clean and perfect. I am just jealous!! What a beautiful baby too! Slam dunk!

  • September 18, 2009 - 11:07 am

Michelle Henrick - Oh yeah, and I also never seem to get the bedrooms with that kind of amazing natural light!

  • October 1, 2009 - 9:48 am

Amy - You are the baby queen. Always stunning. 🙂
