Bellini Portraits » Bellini Portraits : Boston Newborn Photographer, Boston Children's Photographer, Boston Family Photographer, Boston Maternity Photographer

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last blogged but there is good reason…on December 12th we welcomed our new addition at 3:51 am.  Since then I have been recovering from a c-section and adapting to life with two children.  Luckily, with the help of family, it’s been a smooth transition.  The little guy is a super eater and sleeper so thus far he’s been making life {relatively} easy for us!  I have to say it’s so nice having a newborn at my disposal so at any point the creative urge strikes me I can pull out my camera and have a little photo shoot. 🙂  So without further ado, our newest pride and joy, MJP!

    tracey - Steph,
He is beautiful! I can’t wait to meet him…..your bed looks fab.

I know.  I’ve been MIA.  I haven’t even blogged my last two sessions of 2009.  I am getting ready for baby #2 who is due to make his appearance on December 16th.  Something tells me this little guy has another idea and may decide to visit us early 🙂  I promise, Erin & Laura, I will blog your little cherubs!  But first I wanted to get you all thinking.  I am going to be running the Giving is Awesome giveaway again and that means you need to spread the word!   Here’s the dillio:

top1You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $1000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or an album, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over…it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and another awesome detail?   The person who nominates the winner receives a $200 print credit towards a future session. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-home does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

The nominee must reside in Massachusetts. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

Comment on this blog entry to let me know you’ve entered, and e-mail me the full story: stephanie@bellinipics.com.

The deadline is Christmas Eve and the winner will be announced on New Years Eve…so get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season – and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

Or should I say “Double Trouble”? 🙂  These 3 year old fraternal twins had me on my toes today!  Fraternal, you ask?  Well, I was just as perplexed.  I could not tell these little guys apart.  To me they are almost completely identical.  Thankfully mom had different colored t-shirts under their button downs and different color rain boots, otherwise I would have been at a total loss!  I was a little worried that they might be shy or not warm up  to me but it was just the opposite.  I think having a 3 year old boy myself helps me relate to them and them to me.  Oh yes….bad guys, dragons, Batman, the whole bit.  Been there, done that!  I am just in love with the shot of both of the boys in the dried grasses.  Those faces!!  Enjoy.

Kelli j. - They are all so cute! Lovely job!

Wow, what a difference a year makes!  I met this exquisite little beauty last November, right around the time of her first birthday.  She was a bit shy back then but upon my arrival to their uber-stunning back bay brownstone she was all smiles!  I am really just in awe of her face.  To me, she is so doll like.  So beautiful.  We were shooting a little earlier this year,  the holiday season not quite upon us, but this time we didn’t need all the Christmas paraphernalia to keep her entertained.  Who would have known that the ABC song could make a little one so happy?!  That and “Happy Birthday To You” seemed to do the trick.  It was wonderful to see you both again–enjoy!

Vicky Rodrigues - she is very beautiful and charming

Have I mentioned that I love my job?  Love, love, love.  Despite being very pregnant, my schedule is full and I’m thrilled to head out on each and every shoot.  Though a full agenda can be daunting at times, there is always something new in store; new little faces and expressions, the challenge and beauty of different lighting scenarios, and ultimately the shots that wind up taking your breath away.  People have said I have so much patience on shoots and I continue to tell them that those shots that literally stop you and make you shake your head are what makes it all worth it.  I recently did a shoot with a fashionista mom and her three children.  You may remember the blog “To The Nines”.  Well the shoot was a hit and her neighbor wound up booking me.  Fast forward to today and I had another couple of best dressed kiddos.  Never underestimate the power of the perfect outfit and accessories, moms out there!  It really makes such a difference.  I am beaming with how great these shots came out.  The gorgeous light, the fantastic outfits and of course the adorable expressions.  Enjoy!
