Bellini Portraits » Bellini Portraits : Boston Newborn Photographer, Boston Children's Photographer, Boston Family Photographer, Boston Maternity Photographer

No, you didn’t come to the wrong blog.  Yes, I am still a portrait photographer 🙂  In these weeks that I’m taking off to be with my new baby, I want to stay inspired and shooting daily does just that.  Not only do I have two beautiful boys to photograph, at my leisure, but as I look around my home I am finding beauty in the ordinary.  Sometimes you just need to look at things with a different set of eyes.  We all have another set laying around, right?!

Shannon Gish - Rachel Carson was right when she penned, “One way to open your eyes is to ask yourself, ‘What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again?’ ”

All of your art, in addition to these latest ones, are truly inspired…

Sheila Riannon - These are beautiful. I’m so inspired by all of your work! You take such amazing pictures.

2009 was such an incredible year.  I met so many amazing families and had the pleasure of working with so many spunky, sweet, shy, new, clever, talented and beautiful babies and kids.  I created a slideshow and tried to incorporate at least 1 or 2 images from each shoot so I could share them with all of you!  I am really looking forward to getting back to work at the end of February.  But, for now, I will enjoy this time with both my babies–my now BIG boy 3 1/2 year old and my little 4 week old munchkin.  Sit back and enjoy!

Sherrill Kaplan - This is such a beautiful display of work- we feel honored to have Sash be part of it! Congrats on the baby and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Best, Adam, Sherrill and Sasha Kaplan

I have two.  One older by 3 years and one younger by 3 1/2.  If you have a sister you know how incredible and special that bond can be.  Granted, you may not have grown up the best of friends but you hopefully you grow into them.  This session was my final shoot of 2009.  I used to work with their mom before I left my job as a senior art buyer to follow my dream and start my photography business.  It was bitter sweet to leave that job but it was the best decision I ever made.  Look where I am today!  These sisters seemed to have an incredible bond.  You can really see how much they love and enjoy each other.  They were great sports on this cold November day.  Out and about without their coats and never one complaint.  They loved the camera and the camera loved them.  Enjoy 🙂

Andrea Hallett - These are just beautiful!

Session three with my bambino!  I must say that it’s pretty convenient having a newborn at my disposal so whenever the mood strikes I can break out the 5D and start snapping away.  These shots are from Saturday when he turned 3 weeks old.  I can’t believe how fast time flies and how big he is getting.  Normally I do not do newborn sessions if a baby is older than 14 days old.  They lose their flexibility, ability to stay in curled positions, sleep less soundly and sometimes we can run into problems with baby acne.  This little guy had such a bad case of acne for almost two solid weeks but by the time I did this session it was almost all cleared up.  Thanks to a little help from my friend Photoshop, you would never know!  I have to give credit for the banana leaf shot to my husband.  He has been literally begging me since he was born to use one of the leaves from our banana tree in some way for a shot.  It didn’t roll up like we both had planned so I improvised and just wrapped it up around him.  Let me know what you think, leave a comment so we can make him feel good 😉

mary betg - I am in love with that last shot and it;s not even my babies, so I could only imagine! it is gorgeous!!

Here we are; a brand new year!  It feels good to begin a new year, doesn’t it?  Sort of gives you the chance to shed some old skin and start afresh.  Today, January 1st, I had a couple of “firsts”.  I took my 3 year old son to the movie theatre for the first time.  We saw “Alvin & The Chipmunks : The Squeakquel”.  He absolutely loved it and is now singing and dancing to Beyonce’s “All The Single Ladies”.  Another first?  My 3 week old baby boy smiled at his momma today. 🙂 Be still my heart!  Truth be told, his first smile was on Wednesday and it was for my mom–and that’s ok with me.  What a gift for her to be here with me to experience that!  There is so much more in store for me this year and I am so looking forward to experiencing it all!  Here’s to an amazing year!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
