It’s hard to believe but my little man is 5 months old.  Time really does fly by–no matter how cliche it is to say, it’s the truth.  He’s such a good boy and–at this point–will indulge his momma with an impromptu photo shoot.  We’ll see how long that lasts, though!  My big guy isn’t too into it, turning me into the biggest briber EVER in order to get him to agree to a shoot 🙂  Without further ado, here’s some shots from our crib session this morning.

Our little girl just turned 5 months this week too – or as I prefer to refer to it as 20 weeks – I feel like I can steal back some time that way. 🙂
Bookmarking you now and hope to one day be able to commission you.

Today I had a session with James.  3 months 3 weeks and a tall drink of water.  He was asleep on the couch when I arrived but soon opened his big blue eyes and all that followed was smile after smile.  Talk about waking up on the right side of the bed!  Now, normally I tell my clients that a 3 month session can be limiting and/or challenging.  At that age the baby is only beginning to really smile and they don’t always tolerate being on their bellies for very long.  Not this guy.  His head was held high and he pushed WAY up!  I was totally impressed.  He had so much fun with me that I think I finished shooting in just over an hour.  He had a ball and the only tears we saw were when we scooped him up out of his crib in his naked glory and got him dressed.  I think he really enjoyed the, um, “freedom”.  Thanks for a fabulous shoot.  It was great to meet you!  xo

Lisa - Aww man, you really got some fantastic shots here! Look at those beautiful eyes!

I had the pleasure of meeting these absolutely beautiful little girls yesterday.  Sun was shining, weather was sweet, yeah. 🙂  Mom told me that the oldest might take some time warming up to me but she seemed pretty interested in me the minute I walked in the door.  Add some fun props and accessories and I think we did just fine!  You never know what will get a little one laughing but for her the very thought of pizza falling on my head did it.  I have no shame and will do whatever it takes to get the smiles.  The little one, well, she was more inquisitive than anything.  At that age, everything but the camera seems more important–or tasty for that matter.  We were back and forth pulling leaves and grass out of her mouth 🙂  It was a lovely shoot and lovely to meet you four!!  xo

Here she is–the proud winner of my free newborn shoot.  I’ve been so looking forward to meeting her!  8 days new and perfect as can be.  She slept the ENTIRE time so I was able to cruise through many props and poses.  If you are pregnant and looking to book a session, please book before your little one arrives.  We will schedule you for 1 week out from your due date and then once the baby is born we’ll book you anywhere from 3-7 days out from when you leave the hospital.  Babies are at their best before 2 weeks so timing is essential.  So for Tracy and her loving sisters who brought her to the shoot…here’s your little girl!  Enjoy! xo

Kim Lowe - Mabel rocks! These are beautiful shots!

This is what comes to mind when I look at these photos.  I love the light, the lemons and granny smith apples.  I adore the Matilda Jane clothing and my vintage props.  It all came together yesterday with this little cutie.  She loves to play dress up and was in awe of the plethora of hair accessories I pulled out of endless bags, tutus hidden in closets, and lots of pretty things that made her eye sparkle with curiosity and glee.  This is officially the first “model” shoot of the year though there will be many more to come.  I had so many amazing photos submitted of willing beauties that I’m going to be doing more than I originally anticipated–and that’s ok with me.  I will be in touch with you all very soon with my concept and dates!
