As promised, more shots of my engagement session with the lovely Sarah and handsome Bobby!  I love that they wanted to include their fur-baby Drake in their session.  He was all puppy and wanted to play and prance so we only got a few with him “cooperating”.  Too cute.  Enjoy!!

Yep.  I’m in love, love, love, love,  crazy love with engagement sessions. If you didn’t get that–it’s a Van Morrison song.  I’m just including a couple tonight because–LITERALLY–I could spend all night in front of my computer editing.  Such an awesome session.  You guys were FABULOUS.  Thanks for letting go and having fun with me tonight.  More to come next week!  xoxo

Angela Waterberg - OH my GOSH! Love these! 😀 They are so beautiful !!

My shoot today brought me out to Dennis (Cape Cod).  I was greeted by two smiling blonde, blue eyed girls.  I was told that they take about 10-15 minutes to really warm up to people they don’t know but I think I had them at “hello” 🙂  I come with bags and bags of tricks, you see–this time accessories.  All I needed to say was “headbands” and they were both breathless with anticipation.  They loved going through my accessory bag, each picking the one(s) they’d like to wear for our session.  Too cute!  We took a short stroll down took the beach which was so beautiful–and despite the fact that foreboding clouds were rolling in, the beach was still aflurry with people at 5pm.  We lost about half of the crowd 30 minutes in when the sky started spitting–however we were brave and decidedly set on continuing with our shoot.  The girls were still up for it….I mean I DID have more “stuff” for them to play with!  So it cleared and we continued and we had a blast.  But like everything, all good things come to an end.  The girls were tired and I started losing them to yawns, eye-rubs and far away stares.  That’s what the fresh air does to ya.  We fit it all in just in time before the storm hit.  My ride home was a bit scary at times and I felt like Mr. MgGoo hunched at the steering wheel, leaning in, squinty eyed trying to see through the wall of rain hitting my windshield.  And all at once, it stopped and the sun was shining again.  At home, my son saw his first rainbow!  Just including a couple tonight–more to come this weekend!!  It was great to meet you Piper & Brynn, and mom and dad too!  Enjoy!  xoxo

Kim Howells - Beautiful work, and I feel a pang of sadness that I have not yet visited Cape Cod! My Aunty has a cottage there, but I live a wee way away in NZ.

I had the immense pleasure of spending 2+ days this weekend with the fabulous Barb Uil from Australia.  If you don’t know Barb Uil and you’re a kids photographer, now’s the time to get acquainted.  She’s on of the top children’s photographers in zee world!  And yep….I got to shoot along side her on a 100 acre farm just outside of Pittsburgh.  I was one of 11 photographers who attended the 1st of 3 workshops held in PA but her 3+ month travels in the US have already put her in Cali and Montana and in a couple more weeks she’s off to Ohio to teach more and then back west before finally return Down Undah in September.  I went for inspiration.  There is so much JOY in her photographs, you can’t help but sigh and smile and think…”could her clients be ANY MORE HAPPY???” and could each moment be “ANY MORE IDYLLIC????”  Ugh!  Makes me envious but inspired none the less.  So, over the course of the workshop I coined the phrase, “it’s a Jinky moment”.  You know the moment when something so fabulous happens it could only be a Jinky sort of moment?  Like when a butterfly flies down and sits on a child’s nose?  Or you find a ladybug climbing up your sleeve?  Or a beautiful horse neighs and wisps of your hair blow gently in the breeze–ok that might be pushing it. 🙂  Those would be Jinky moments.  And here’s mine that I captured.  It epitomizes that to a “T”.  Her beautiful daughter Penny, with a little butterfly she caught in her hands, on a tree swing, at sunset, on a 100 acre farm.  Perfection.  More photos to share this week!  xoxo

7 months, 3 weeks.  Not sure how it’s possible.  I look at his legs reaching out over the edge of the car seat and wonder how on earth he’s managed to get so big so fast.  It’s in a flash, this thing called life.  I adore this photo of Madden James.  Like an old soul staring right back at his momma.  xoxo
