Adjective: charmingly or exquisitely beautiful. I’m not sure what this tree is called but it must be called “beautiful”.  I mean, seriously.  Even the passed flower is exquisite-the shriveled tendrils look like a watercolor painting to me, hues of pinks and mauves streaming down the paper.  I spotted this tree on Thursday while I was prop shopping on the Cape.  I drove past it and knew I had to go back.  There are so many times that I see something and tell myself to stop but I don’t and just keep driving.  Why?  What’s my rush?  Why not stop and smell the proverbial roses?  Live each day to the fullest.  Enjoy.  Breathe it in.  Soak it up.  Sadly there are times when we are reminded how fleeting life really is and how we are never guaranteed a tomorrow.  One week ago today we said our final goodbyes to our dear friend John.  It will never seem fair that such a good man is gone and it will never make sense that somebody can be here laughing and living one moment and gone the next.  He will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.  So on that day with a beautiful new prop in the back of my car I took the long way home with my windows down, driving slow so I could just enjoy.  I stopped.  I took pictures.  And it made me happy.  Enjoy.  xoxo

kimberly Postma - so moving – both your photography and your story.

I love engagement sessions!  It’s pretty great being around people who are completely and utterly smitten with each other and overflowing with emotion.  I knew I wanted to photograph this couple in a vineyard–both being wine connoisseurs it seemed rather fitting.  I told my husband about my plan to head to a Newport winery and he suggested a friend of a friend who owns a very large property with a vineyard who lives near by.  OK–count me in!  I headed over on Monday to scout the location and was so impressed with row after row of grape vines, fruit trees, gardens, ponds…he literally has to take a golf cart to get around his property.  So fun!  Thank you, Lorenzo, for letting me do the session at your lovely home.  And thanks Al and Wendy for making my job very easy tonight!  Enjoy! xoxo

Tonya - What a beautiful location! And a gorgeous couple! They look so relaxed and natural in front of the camera.

It’s what I think when I look at these images from today.  So, so pretty.  The beach, the hazy sunlight, the blues and greens playing off each other again and need I mention this little girl’s wardrobe?  A walking CrewCuts catalog!  Her mother knocks my socks off every session–this being our third time now.  Makes me yearn for a little girl, too (sniff).  We shared a bialy before going over outfits and then headed to Sandy Neck Beach for the first part of our shoot.  The beach was empty.  It made me a little sad to see noboby there–a quiet reminder that summer is over for the most part.  Back to school and back to reality, I guess.  Anyway, we finished at Heritage Gardens which was so lovely and I can’t believe with all the time I spend down that way that I still hadn’t been.  It was a hot, hot morning and our little trooper was just that, a trooper!  Save for a little blip at the end when she wasn’t to keen on letting my vintage doll pram go, it was a wonderfully perfect shoot.  Thanks and enjoy! xoxo

Stephanie Lynn - how cute is she?!? these are fabulous… LOVE that kite and the image of her just holding it in her hands… so so cute!

There is something so calming about the lake when it is still–not a ripple, nary a sound.  Morning moments that can make your heart skip a beat and paint a smile upon your face.  A little cove welcomed us, an overturned canoe asking us to come and sit.  The blues and greens, to me, are the ultimate combination.  Jason was a joy to work with–sweet as can be and with eyes as blue as the sky.  Though my ill-fated paper sailboat didn’t float, I’m pretty sure he still thought it was cool!  🙂  Back to the drawing board.  Thank you for a beautiful (yet hot and sweaty) morning.  Enjoy!  xoxo

Yvonne - Oh my goodness! These are amazing! LOVE the first one and the image of the family under that tree! Goes perfect with the book.

Laurie Berkner sings it.  I’ve gotten to like it–along with a lot of other kids songs (gasp) on Kids Place Live on Sirius.  Every time I shoot at this location, that song pops into my head….”Can you feel a breeze blow by?  Can you feel it on your face?  This is our special place…”  The old gorgeous oak (?) gave us reprieve from the oppressive heat today.  98 degrees at 5:00.  Yep, that’s pretty sweltering if you ask me.  However, these twins didn’t seem to mind–much like our shoot in the fall when it was blustery and cold.  Kids are soooo resilient!  🙂  It was great to see you again!  Enjoy.  xoxo

can you feel the soft cool grass? can you feel it with your toes? you can sit here while it grows.
