Seven months is an age that is pure delight–the constant smiles, curious wide eyes and the sweet sound of their little voices…and utter deliciousness–those chunky thighs and tush that if you’re not careful you juuussst might take a bite.  It’s the best!!  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful baby girl 3 times now since she was born last June (here and here).  I say it again and again but it really is such a treat to watch all of these little sprouts grow.  Her beauty is really no surprise with a mother who is drop dead and her nana that I met today who is equally as stunning.  It was lovely to see the 3 generations together, both mothers enamored and turned inside out with delight by their “Ninushka”–Little Nina.  Enjoy! xox

After two days stuck in the house while we got hit with our umpteenth snow storm of the season, I had some serious cabin fever.  Happily I woke to sun today–albeit mixed with fairy-like snow twirling around but even more snow couldn’t break my get-up-and-go spirit this morning.  Also, I had plans to photograph 14 day old Emmy today and I was so excited to have a session with a baby girl.  It seems I’ve had a flux of baby boys and my girlie accessories were dying to come out to play.  🙂  She’s got two big brothers, 4 and 2, that adore her and yet again proves to me that *yes* a girl can follow 2 boys–there is hope!  I loved how easy going mom was but that’s normally what you can expect from a seasoned mother of three.  I got the “do-whatever-you-like-I totally-trust-you” vibe and I went with it.  Luckily for me, Emmy was quite the sleeper which is such a bonus.  Thank you sweet, Emmy!  xoxo

big brothers!

My friend and I got together on Saturday to start planning a trip to Italy this summer.  It’s still in the very beginning phases and my husband’s not really convinced that this will really happen—but a girl can dream, can’t she?  It’s been ages since I’ve been and literally daydream about going back.  What better way to transcend the winter doldrums then picture yourself boating into the Blue Grotto in Capri?  Biking into a vineyard in Tuscany?  Having a candlelit dinner on a terrace in Amalfi?  Shopping in Rome?  Eating until you can’t possibly eat another bite?  {sigh}  Yesterday, I made escarole soup.  It warms my soul and makes my husband very happy (he LOVES soup!).  It makes the house smell amazing as the garlic and onions cook in the olive oil.  While I’m doing this, I notice how pretty everything is; the garlic and onion skins translucent and delicate, the way the escarole opens up and gradates from dark green to light, from yellow to white with ridges and ruffles all the way through.  They say you eat with your eyes first.  So eat up!  Enjoy 🙂  xoxo

It’s February 1st!  Did you remember to say ‘Rabbit, Rabbit’?  Or do you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about??  For those of you who do not, it’s something you say on the 1st day of each month and it’s supposed to bring you luck for that month.  Additionally, it should be the first thing that you say but my first words this morning were, “oh look, it’s snowing already!”  We are getting pummeled with snow here in the North East.  We already have a couple of feet on the ground and another foot is expected today.  This would be fine and dandy if I actually liked the snow but since I don’t ski and I’m not a chionophile (had to look that one up) I’m not too keen on snow anytime after Christmas.  Not much can be done but accept it and make the best of it.  Today I will bake and cook to my hearts content with my two little boys at my side and the dog, no doubt, at my feet looking for something to fall in his path.  I’m a day late with this post as I announced that these prints would be delivered in January but  here are the WINNERS from my Best of 2010 contest!  Can’t wait to get them out to my clients!  Enjoy!  x0x0

Meet baby Hatcher.  He’s the little nugget that was giving this beautiful mama her radiant glow.  Sleeping was not on his agenda today despite the fact that the heat was cranked, the sound machine was heart-beating away AND he got to eat, eat, eat….nope…he thought it would be more fun to check things out.  Don’t let these photos fool yah cuz the last one of him looking straight at me was much of what we saw today. 🙂  For those expectant moms out there who are interested in booking a session, please call to schedule your sitting before the baby is born–very important!  Ideally newborn sessions will take place within the first 3-10 days.  Time is of the essence!  Have a great weekend! xo
