Bellini Portraits » Bellini Portraits : Boston Newborn Photographer, Boston Children's Photographer, Boston Family Photographer, Boston Maternity Photographer

Lil’ Ms. Ella has become a Bellini regular!  Newborn, 6 month and 1 year sessions….check!  This was her 6 month session back in January –yeah, I’m now blogging 2013 sessions!!  She was a real trooper and fulfilled moms dreams of getting her magical snow session and braved the chilly temps without much fuss!  But she really came alive once we got inside and got her down to her diaper cover and then more shots upstairs with moms jewelry and nana’s lace.  I adore the shots of her on the bed.  Falling into the comfy comforter and getting ready to nuzzle in for naptime.  I can’t wait to share their summer session from August.  I might just have to blog a little out of order because the shots are just. that. good.  Enjoy xoxo

Stephanie Rita - I just love the cozy outdoor photos! and the natural light you somehow always capture indoors blows my mind. any tips on how you do that so consistently? thanks!

It was a cold day back in December.  Snow was starting to spit and the city was resonating with holiday spirit.  The doors in Charlestown were with adorned with holiday wreaths.  It was my last session of 2012 and what a better way to spend it than with this family in a gorgeous old brownstone in their light filled master bedroom.  White bed, window light, cream flokati rug?  I’m pretty much in heaven given those circumstances!  I wasn’t able to make it in time for baby sister’s newborn session so we went a head with a newborn lifestyle session since she was just about 6 weeks old at the time of our shoot.  No need for the bean bag and loads of props, she was all smiles for me this winter day, in just a simple white onesie.  As was her big sis–whom I photographed as a teeny tiny newborn just 18 months prior to this shoot!  Even though we only have a couple of months left of outdoor sessoins, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a fabulous shoot indoors just keeping it simple and just being you.  Enjoy! I could never tire of photographing babies in their nurseries.  Of course, it’s just the icing on the cake when I get to photograph the bond between mothers and their daughters, too.  I love how simple and real it is.  No fluff, no props, no expectations–just the love that tells the story all on it’s own.

So, hey, did you hear?  I was nominated as one of Boston’s Best Family Photographers!  And I’m a finalist!  No joke!  Today is the very last day to vote and I would be thrilled if you could take a moment (really! that’s all it takes) and do so by clicking the icon below?  I would truly appreciate it!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

xoxoxo

AKP Photography - Aaaaaw these are sooo stinkin cute 😀

It’s hard to believe the summer is winding down and my busy fall season is gearing up.  Why does it seem that summer takes forever and a day to arrive and then–POOF–in a blink of an eye it’s just GONE?  It doesn’t seem fair.  To add insult to injury, I feel that all of us New Englanders got a little jipped with all the rain we had.  I swear, almost all of my late spring and summer shoots have had to be rescheduled at least once, some even 3x!!!  Unbelievable!   It’s all a bit, hmm, bittersweet, isn’t it?  The end of something so sweet with the anticipation of something new and different?  These warm summer days will segue into cool breezes, vibrant fall colors, the smell of firewood in the air and cozy sweaters.  So what do you like better, the ease of a summer dress or shorts (can’t forget about you guys out there) or the layered look in the fall and winter?  I’ve always loved how simple it was throwing on a cute summer dress and looking put together and ready to go in an instant.  But, I think I’m starting to like the idea of layering it all up–especially when you top it all off with a great pair of leather boots. Just minus the sweater.  I’ve never been a fan of sweaters.  Nope.  Not even cashmere ones!  Call me crazy…

Speaking of fall, I will be announcing one and possibly two dates for fall mini sessions.  For those apprehensive about doing minis, I can assure you that you CAN get fabulous shots in 20 minutes.  Case in point, Charlie Boy??  17 minutes flat!!  I’ve been photographing this gorgeous boy since he was a newborn.  In the interim his equally beautiful mama and I have become very close friends, like sistahs!  So, on one of our many sleepovers–our boys play and we cook, dance and get silly in the kitchen–we headed over to one of my favorite shooting locations overgrowing with Bittersweet Berries and did a quick session.  So, be on the lookout!  I will be posting dates and info for these Fall Mini Sessions this week!!  Stay tuned!

xo Stephanie
