Channeling Poppins.

I was booked for an extended family shoot today; 5 kids and 9 adults.  The family was coming together this weekend to celebrate a birthday and since they would all be together it would have been an opportune time to score some shots as a family.  I guess the party went a little late last night (ahem) and, I was told, one by one the adults starting “opting” out of the shoot.  When I arrived, even 3 of the kids decided it was a no-go.  Musta been some party!!:-) I say, “No problem!” and just head to my car to start pulling up my props and accessories.  By the time I arrive back with my 2nd load of stuff, all of the kids were piled around the trikes, wagon and bags of goodies.  I started showing them all the fun accessories I brought and I couldn’t believe the reaction I got as I started pulling colorful hat after hat out of these seemingly bottomless bags-o-fun.  I felt like Mary Poppins–minus the coat rack and floor lamp.  So, for at least a fleeting moment or two, I did have the full attention of all 5 kiddos.  And then they were off….
