The place where I spent 3 glorious weeks immersed full-throttle into an intensive language study upon arriving in Italy. The place where I ate gelato every single day and didn’t think twice about it. The place where I had journeyed to, by myself, for a semester in college. I can remember sitting in the piazza, the warm sun beating down on the cobblestones, pen in my hand writing letters to my mom still in disbelief that I was actually there. With a firm(er) grasp of the language I was then off to Firenze for the remainder of my time. I met Juliet, Elisa and Xanthe who became my roommates. We rented a fantastic apartment on Borgo Pinti. Top floor, 5 really, really loooong flights, but worth it when you reached the top. We had a spectacular 360 degree view of Florence from our roof deck. This made all the huffing and puffing worth it. Well, with all the ravioli rose and gelato I consumed it didn’t hurt to burn a few
But I guess I’m just daydreaming a little. Siena is also the name of this beautiful girl I photographed last week. We met in the Public Gardens and made some music together. Somewhere faintly I think I hear some “Il Mio Bambino Caro”….but I guess that’s just me daydreaming again. Enjoy!
