For fun, I’ve posted some images below that I shot 4 years ago (2/9/08) with some editing. Coming originally from a film background, during the 1st year and early 2nd year in business I didn’t really use Photoshop to process my digital images (gasp) and presented many SOOC (double gasp), some with only slight levels adjustments. What you shot with film is what you got. Well, since then I have spent hundreds of hours on forums, thousands on workshops and continue to educate myself–daily. What better way to improve your images than from somebody you trust? I wish I had the plethora of resources 5 years ago that are readily available for all of you new, aspiring photographers. Beware–this is a monster blog post. There are just too many sweet shots I just couldn’t help but share so many with you! I’ll start of by saying I love these clients!! This is our 4th session together in 4 years. It’s been a joy watching Emma grow from a baby into a little girl full of life and expression. It’s also fun planning with mom because she rocks it with the clothing time after time. I’ll admit–I’m a bit jealous of this little girl’s closet. Really divine! I’ll let these images tell the story of our session on a beautiful Fall day in October….enjoy! xoxo

marci and family

Facebook has been such a blessing for my business. It has brought my work to people all over the country and beyond. Fellow photographer, Marci Yochum, reached out to me in August and I was thrilled and flattered that she wanted me to photograph her family. They would be making the trip from New Jersey to spend an afternoon catching butterflies and playing at the beach. Our first date had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Irene which left us with no power for 4 looong days. But our rescheduled date was so beautiful! To start we had a mix of moody clouds which then broke into clear, bright blue skies. We ended with a gorgeous sunset at my favorite field. These photos were also to celebrate her 10 year anniversary with her handsome husband. I am really loving these shots of them together!! Enjoy! xoxo

family sandwiches

I had a very sweet family session last month. Ya know the kind where the laughter is infectious and the love is palpable? Yep. That kind. Family sandwiches are their specialty–and those sandwiches insight lots of smiles and laughter. You can’t fake this kind of happiness. Keep that in mind for YOUR future session. Just let go and be YOU–silliness and all!! I had a ton of fun fishing with Grady and letting him try to splash me. I think he most enjoyed my beloved turquoise vintage tricycle and drawing with chalk on the street Enjoy!! xoxoxo
