I don’t get the chance to photograph teenagers that much.  I’d say almost all my sessions are newborn/babies and children under 5.  It’s ok. I can be goofy and ask kids to make each other laugh by telling potty jokes, but there’s something to be said with having clients that sit still and take direction...
