This is what comes to mind when I look at these photos. I love the light, the lemons and granny smith apples. I adore the Matilda Jane clothing and my vintage props. It all came together yesterday with this little cutie. She loves to play dress up and was in awe of the plethora of hair accessories I pulled out of endless bags, tutus hidden in closets, and lots of pretty things that made her eye sparkle with curiosity and glee. This is officially the first “model” shoot of the year though there will be many more to come. I had so many amazing photos submitted of willing beauties that I’m going to be doing more than I originally anticipated–and that’s ok with me. I will be in touch with you all very soon with my concept and dates!

My client prop and wardrobe racks are overflowing. I just can’t help myself when I’m out shopping and see stuff that I love. I buy it and tell myself that I’ll use it for an upcoming shoot. This usually happens as my clients tend to be really open minded and leave the creativity up to me. But I’d like to shoot even more and I’d like to get even more creative. This year I plan on doing some fun shoots just for me but I’ll need your help. How? Well, I’ll need models for these sessions and that means your little beauty! These shoots will be fully styled by moi and the locations will vary depending upon the clothing and props I intend to use. What do you get out of it? A free session with me and a $200 print credit towards your print order. Pretty cool, right?

So what am I looking for exactly?

*Girls 3-7 years old, any ethnicity

*Lots of personality and not shy upon meeting new people

*Takes direction very well (not picky about what they’ll wear, has a good attention span, etc)

Matilda Jane Trunk Show

It’s a little ways away but I am soooo excited to be hosting a Matilda Jane trunk show on March 8th. Hosting makes me a “Jane”–kinda fun to have another name just for a day The clothing is so incredible and can only be purchased at a trunk show from a trunk keeper. I will be opening my home up to 25 people and I have a feeling it’s gonna fill up fast! The reaction I’ve gotten from a handful of moms who have never seen MJ clothing before was fantastic. It will be a household name in Massachusetts before you know it–trust me. Not only is it gorgeous to look at; unique fabric combinations, lovely colors, embellishments and lots of whimsy, it photographs REALLY well which is why I have a slew of stuff and I don’t even have a daughter! Today I did a mini shoot with this absolutely beautiful little girl who is the niece of one of my all time favorite clients. I thought this would be a good way for you all to see their style before the new Spring 2009 line comes out in March.
